Project Grateful

Christmas is just a few days away. And while we will be away from home for the holiday, I do so enjoy the tree with all its lights. It is so peaceful to have the fireplace burning and to enjoy the glow emanating from the tree.

Under the tree are a number of gifts. Of course, Santa hasn’t been yet so most of them are not there. Hey, my kids are grown. We quit the whole milk and cookies thing a few years back.

There’s something about presents under the tree that bring me back to a good part of my childhood. The innocence that once was comes alight once again. And the thoughts of how these gifts will make my loved ones feel causes my heart to be joyful.

If you were to ask me what I want for Christmas, I would tell you that you couldn’t buy it for me. I don’t need any more stuff. I have plenty of that. In fact, I need to get RID of stuff!

All I need and want for Christmas is the company of those that I love. That, and the opportunity to give them gifts from my heart. It is in this that I rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
