Day 73 – The Me I Want to Be
I’ve been on a self-improvement run lately and have been devouring one book after another.
A new book by John Ortberg recently caught my eye and I picked up a copy at Amazon. It’s called “The me I want to be: becoming God’s best version of you.”
I’m a few chapters in, but so far it is an encouraging work. One especially encouraging passage states:
“When you flourish, you become more you. You become more the person God had in mind when he thought you up. You don’t just become holier. You become you-ier. You will change. God wants you to become a “new creation.” But “new” doesn’t mean completely different; instead, it’s likean old piece of furniture that gets restored to its intended beauty. God wants to redeem you, not exchange you.”
This is a great reminder, especially when we see things in ourselves that we don’t like. God doesn’t make any junk. I will always be the person I am. With God’s help, I can be thankful that He will always work to make me a better version of me!

Geez, that’s ubneleivlabe. Kudos and such.
